Meaning something to someone

What is a sign? A sign is “a thing” that means something to someone. That is what I do. I help people make their projects more meaningful. I am an “Aesthetic Translator”. 

I am Manolo Rangel and I am an industrial and graphic designer. I’m passionate about my job and brainstorming about how to convey a specific message is my favorite part. My strengths in design are full concept brand creation, art direction,editorial design, product design, and the study of semiotic and aesthetics in society. 

I’m highly influenced by Ibero-American pop culture, music bands like Fangoria and Nancy’s rubias, and artists like Pedro Almodovar and Juan Gatti. I’m amazed by the American Mid-century modern movement. I’m obsessed with chairs and their history and the post-modernism movement and its trends. I am intrigued by America’s pop culture and trash culture. I am interested in not only the aesthetic of objects, but also the history behind them.
